Roll of Honour
Mrs Alban Wood, 27 South Beech Avenue,
Starbeck, has received official notice from the War Office that her
eldest son, Private R Wood (Northumberland Fusiliers) has
been wounded in France in the big advance on April 10th by severe
gun shot wound in the right groin. Before joining the Army he was
employed as a Harrogate Station carriage cleaner. It is the second
time he has been wounded. The last time it was shrapnel behind the
right shoulder, July 30th, 1916. Mrs Wood has another son in
France, and she had a son who died in France two years ago.
