Roll of Honour
Mr & Mrs Charles Woodward, Low Dunsforth,
Boroughbridge, have received intimation from the War Office of their
son, Driver Alfred Woodward, Royal Field Artillery, having
died of wounds on the 14th October. The official communication was
accompanied by a message of sympathy from their Majesties the King
and Queen. Driver Woodward, who was 27 years of age, Joined
the colours in January last and went to the Front about six weeks
ago. He was wounded in action on the 12th October, and died in
hospital two days later. Much sympathy is felt for the fallen hero's
wife and parents. His younger brother, LCpl J Woodward, is in
hospital having been gassed.
