Private E L Wrather, West Yorks Regiment, of
New Park, was killed in action in the last week of February. He was
24 years of age, and had been in the Army just over 7 years, serving
in India, Malta, and the Balkan States. He joined the 2nd West
Yorkshire Regiment in 1908, was transferred to the 1st West Yorks in
India, and again transferred back to the 2nd West Yorks, coming back
to England.
