The Story of a Hospital
By Wilfrid Edgecombe, M.D., F.R.C.P., F.R.C.S.
The history of the Harrogate and District General
Hospital
Mr G G Stephenson
In 1946 the hospital suffered the loss by death of Mr G G
Stephenson, honorary treasurer for 24 years. As chancellor of the
hospital exchequer and guardian of its funds he was indefatigable,
and was largely instrumental in collecting considerable sums of
money from various sources from time to time. He was succeeded by Mr
W R A Breare. Also is recorded the death of Mr J E A Titley, who had
been solicitor to the hospital for many years.
