The Story of a Hospital
By Wilfrid Edgecombe, M.D., F.R.C.P., F.R.C.S.
The history of the Harrogate and District General
Hospital
Useful innovation was started in 1951 by the formation of
a "Joint Staff Consultation Committee," consisting on the one hand
of representatives of the ancillary staff, nurses, porters,
engineers, etc, and of members of the House Committee on the other.
The committee meets about four times a year and matters of common
interest are discussed. Many useful suggestions for alteration and
improvement have been put forward from the staff side, and the
meetings are valuable in promoting and maintaining a harmonious
relationship between the two sides of hospital administration.
