Knaresborough, Gentleman
My servants resident in my house at Knaresborough i.e. George Sheppard and
Thomas Kettlewell, to be provided with a decent suit of mourning.
To my relations -
William Bolland and Susannah Robinson, the wife of Josiah
Robinson, £3000 each.
To William Robinson, son of Susannah, £1000.
To James Walker of Beverley In Trust for all his children £1500.
To Mrs Elizabeth Swaine, widow of the Reverend William
Swaine, late vicar of Bramham, £200.
To my godson Thomas Nursaw, my servant John Smith, George Sheppard, Elizabeth Lockwood the daughter of
William Lockwood of Easingwold, £100 each.
To the Trustees of the free Grammar School at Knaresborough, £150.
The £1000 I have in Stock of which I am Trustee as executor under the Will of
Mary Witter, and the £600 in the same stock of which I am Trustee under the Will of
Mary Simpson, and as Trustee of her daughter Mrs Barf. I also have £400, the property of the four daughters of
John Thomas of North Cowton, given them by the Will of Ambrose
Gray, late of Thornton Bridge, Gentleman. I also have £150 the property of the three children of
Francis Pennington.
The remainder of my real and personal estate to go to the Reverend Richard
Dawson, rector of Bolton near Gisburn in Craven, whom I appoint as executor.
